Good Morning “As God Intended You To Be.” Today we are in 1 Samuel 25.
In chapter 24 we saw David falter a bit. We rooted for him to kill Saul, but David understood his position before God. Instead he took just a corner of his robe. Even then, David was convicted, repented, and furthermore pledged his protection to Saul.
In chapter 25 we see David respond in flesh once again as he and his men are shamed by Nabal. We get to see a couple things here. Nabal the knucklehead shows us how to do it wrong. Clueless men and their wives that actually get it is not exclusive to our time. Abigale recognizes Nabal’s foolishness and does for David what Nabal should have. In that act it seems God uses Abigale to humble David as well.
Furthermore we see Gods heart toward knuckle-headed, self seeking men. “About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabal and he died” 1 Samuel 25:38 NIV. David’s got some growing to do before Gods ready for put him in position as king.
We’ve all got some growing to do. As we grow, heed the example of Abigale. Heed the example of David’s willingness to humbly repent. We’ll see more of that.
DON’T be like Nabal.
Love you all! Dig in!
