Good Morning “Spiritual Warriors.” Today we are in Daniel 10.
Let’s start with a little background regarding angels. Although we are not given an exact number of angels, we know from Scripture God created thousands upon thousands. There are only 3 “angels” mentioned, or named in Scripture. Lucifer/Satan, Micheal and Gabriel.
Obviously if they are mentioned by name, they must fill a pretty significant role. Lucifer was the Anointing Cherub , the most beautiful and powerful of all of Gods creation. He was responsible for worship, he was the minister of music.
(Ezekiel 28:12-17, Isaiah 14:12-15). His heart became proud. He wanted worship for himself… in short he wanted to be God. When Satan rebelled he took a 3rd of the angels with him. (Luke 10:18, Revelation 12:4-9) We typically refer to those angels as demons.
Gabriel is a messenger of God, and Michael is the commander of the Lord’s army. In today’s passage, the angel Gabriel comes to deliver a message of comfort to Daniel. Daniel is horrified at first, it doesn’t seem comforting.
The reality is, we are in a spiritual battle! Without The Truth of Gods Word it can seem scary. Satan masquerades and an angel of light and does battle with anyone seeking to honor God through His Word. The reality is… God gives us everything we need to be victorious (Ephesians 6:10-17, 1 John 4:4). The battles we wage are not against flesh and blood…
We need not be afraid for the battle was already won at The Cross, where Satans power was broken. This is Daniel’s comfort and it ought also be ours.
