Hosea 3

Good Morning “Waiting”.  Today we are in Hosea 3.

Consider the love of a husband who would buy back (redeem) his promiscuous wife, forgive her and love her.  The story is staggering.  Consider as well the love of Jesus who suffered, was separated from The Father and Spirit (Matthew 27:46) and ultimately gave His life so that we might be redeemed, and reconciled to God (Ephesians 1:6-7).

It’s the greatest demonstration of love the world has ever known.  What an incredible gift. In this chapter Israel awaits her restoration to God and to the promised land. We all eagerly await our ultimate restoration with our creator (Romans 8:18-)

Hosea rescued his wife from the horrors of her own sin, despite her repeated return to it.  Why, how, could she reject his love and go back to the emptiness of life without him.  Right?

Wait, are we talking about Hosea’s wife or us?

To this day Israel is split, frankly so is the rest of the world… some who recognize Messiah Jesus for who He is, the salvation and restoration of the world. Others deny Him and consciously choose the emptiness of sin and the world’s offerings apart from Him (Romans 1:19-20).  Seems foolish doesn’t it?

Also seems foolish we would keep this Grace to ourselves (2 Corinthians 5:14-21).

Love you all!  Dig in, and live it out!
