Good Morning “Only Humans”. Today we are in Hosea 11.
“My people are determined to turn from me….” Hosea 11:7 NIV
In this chapter, as God is speaking of the judgment He will bring upon Ephraim (Northern Israel), we see His incredible Mercy and Grace on FULL display. Do not miss it!
“I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I devastate Ephraim again. For I am God, and not a man— the Holy One among you. I will not come against their cities.” Hosea 11:9 NIV
As we read of Gods judgement it’s possible for us to forget, He is perfect judgment, but He is also perfect mercy and grace - totally justified in all that He does. We can’t wrap our minds around that… because He is God and we’re not!
For I am God, and not man: The longsuffering, forgiveness, and compassion of the Lord toward His people seems unbelievable until we are reminded that He is not a man, but God. His love and forgiveness are of a different order.
What passes for forgiveness among men is nothing like the amazing forgiveness of God. Praise God for that Truth, or we would have no hope!
