Good Morning “Remember-ers”. Today we are in Hosea 13.
Once again we are reminded not to forget it is The Lord who sustains us. It is The Lord who carry’s us. It is The Lord who supplies our breath, our life and our salvation. It is ONLY The Lord. It is not us, it is not our talents, gifts, hard work ethic, our nationality, race, or anything else (Acts 17:25-27, Matthew 25:14-30). It is The Lord who blesses - period (James 1:17).
“But I have been the Lord your God ever since you came out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me. I cared for you in the wilderness, in the land of burning heat. When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me.”
Hosea 13:4-6 NIV
Israel forgot. Have we?
Through His love, in His Love He reminds Israel and I believe He reminds us too. How… He takes away the blessing we have so callously forgotten the source of. He does it all, with our repentance and reconciliation as the goal (Hebrews 12:11).
Man that’s a hard, unnecessary route to take when He already made His love clear to us through the blood of His Son Jesus (John 3:16). Furthermore He’s given us His Word, and by It we are daily kept on track (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:9-11). We have to be in The Word, to be transformed by The Word.
