Good Morning “Confessors.” Today we are in Joel 3.
Universalism is the theological and philosophical belief that all human beings will ultimately be saved, reconciled to God, and experience eternal life, regardless of their faith or actions during their lifetime.
Although the idea may provide some sense of perceived “eternal security”, there is no such idea described in Scripture. It’s false security. In fact The Truth is exactly the opposite. Not all roads lead to heaven. In fact only through The Blood of Jesus shed on The Cross for our sins can anyone spend eternity in heaven (John 14:6).
“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
Hebrews 9:27-28 NIV
Joel 3:14 describes the valley of decision. In this picture, however; the One making the decision is not man, but The Lord.
Consider as well, the eye - witness accounts of Jesus’ crucifixion, notice how closely His punishment (on the cross) fits Joel’s description of God’s judgment in the “Valley of Decision” - literally, in Hebrew: The valley of YHWH’s judgment (Matthew 27:45-54)
Jesus suffered the exact penalty for our sins so that we can stand boldly before God, fully justified. (Romans 8:32-39) Run to the refuge while it is still offered!
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11 ESV
It’s really very simple. If the first time you bow and confess Jesus as Lord, is when you stand before Him at the judgment… it’s too late.
Love you all! Dig in and live it out!
