Daniel 11

Good Morning “Accepters of Prophecy.”  Today we are in Daniel 11.

Opponents of Scripture have a real struggle when it comes to prophecy.  What are we to do with The Bible when we see all of these very detailed prophecies coming to pass? What are we to do with future, “end times” prophecy when it’s scary?  Attempt to discredit It.

Some attempt to “late-date” prophecy.  Without a leg to stand on they suggest that the “true” writers of Scripture took world history in all of its intricate detail, wrote it down, and then ascribed it to Prophets like Daniel… after it had already happened.  Ummm NO!

The problem with their lie is that it’s a lie.  Many ancient copies of The Old Testament, The Law, and yes of Daniel exist.  We have copies of Daniel that are believed to have been written prior to 5th century’s BC.  Why do they believe that… in part because they use Hebrew and Aramaic words that simply quit being used by 5th Century BC. The near term historic events prophesied did not happen for another 100 - 400 years later.  What’s that mean?  It means the prophecy was given, and recorded - WAY before the events.  God was right, Daniel was right!  Scripture IS reliable.

In many cases the prophecies we find within Scripture were given and written down not just hundreds, but thousands of years before they happened.  The detail given isn’t coincidental… it’s given by the One that holds it all in His hand.  Daniel includes both near term prophecy, that we can confirm through history has now happened; and future prophecy that we wait to be fulfilled!

More than 300 very detailed prophesies regarding Jesus have  already been fulfilled - with more to come!

Beyond the bolstering of our faith that comes from this Truth…
Prophecy serves as a light, to see through the darkness of the world.  It shines The Light on what is to come!  Want to know what tomorrow holds?  Read your Bible.  Know it, then in preparation for what comes next… live it!

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John‬ ‭20‬:‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in, and live It out!
