Good Morning “Broken With Others”. Today John 11.
“Jesus wept.” John 11:35 NIV
The shortest verse in all of Scripture says so much! Jesus’ friend Lazarus has been dead 4 days, and his family and friends are destroyed. They are upset Jesus didn’t come sooner to save him. Jesus is broken up too. He wept with them. Except, He has just arrived to raise Lazarus from the dead. We know this, because He clearly stated that fact to the Disciples before He arrived. So why does He weep when there is about to be celebration?
There is about to be - but right now they are all hurting. He is hurting because they are hurting. Their pain is real! Our pain is real and so He hurts when we hurt! How are our hearts for other people? Are we broken when they are broken (Romans 12:15)? Do we see them the way Jesus does?
This God who hurts with us, in the ultimate demonstration of love, gave His life for us - that we too might live! That’s love! Big love!
Love you all! Dig in and live it out!
