Nahum 1

Good Morning “Good News Bringers.”  Today we are in Nahum 1.

Jonah was called to preach Grace to Nineveh, but didn’t believe they deserved it.  Truth is none of us deserve Grace.  That’s what Grace is… undeserved or unmerited favor.

Nahum was also called to preach to Nineveh.  He however was called to preach judgement.  Both preached so that the gentile nation might repent and turn to God.

The Lord is righteous and cannot let sin go without dealing with it.   He rules with perfect justice and perfect wrath…

“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him, but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of Nineveh; he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.” Nahum‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Good News is so good because the bad news is so bad. His wrath is bad news, but always comes with an offer of forgiveness through repentance - THATS Good news.  Hence the other side of Gods message through Nahum. For those who repent, in this case Judah… there is much to hope for.

“Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.” Nahum‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in and live out!
