Zechariah 12

Good Morning “Mourners”. Today we are in Zechariah 12.

In today’s chapter God gives us further prophecy regarding Judah, Jerusalem and the beginnings of their awakening.  There will come a time when the veil will be lifted (Romans 11).

God will supernaturally protect Jerusalem in the day that the nations come against her.  The manner of His protection will leave no doubt in the minds of onlookers… “Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God will destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem as prophesied (vs 9).

Jesus IS the Messiah!  There will come a time when a Remnant of Israel will not only worship Him; they will grieve, family by family, for how they had once
rejected Him. We see it also in Revelation 1:5b-7.

They are not weeping out of terror here.  They are mourning - in anguish.  With the veil removed they are broken over their sin, and once rejection of Messiah (Hosea 5:15; Matthew 23:37-39).  Their people, their fathers crucified The Lord of Glory!  Yet, God will pour out His Grace on the repentant, believing, Remnant of David’s house, and Jerusalem.  Not one of continued judgment and wrath, but having turned them to repentance… Grace!

May we never forget that although we were not present at His trial, we drove the nails just the same.  Our sin, made necessary His sacrifice.  We have no veil blinding us from The Truth.  Do we mourn?  For it is in our mourning, our brokenness over sin that Jesus comforts (Matthew 5:4).

Love you all!  Dig in and live it out!
