Good Morning “Mature”. Let’s dig into Mark 4
Have you decided which seed you are? The Word of God is living and active! When taught by the Spirit of God - it is the ONLY thing capable of bringing about change in our lives! It is our sword against the evil one! It is THE TRUTH! The ONLY absolute we can turn to! It is our ONLY instruction manual, guidebook, modern day gps, measuring stick, foundation, strength against temptation (Psalm 119:9-11)… Through the Holy Spirit IT has the power to lead, direct (Psalm 119:105), comfort, convict, instruct, teach, rebuke, train, equip (2 Timothy 3:16-17)! The real question is what do we do with it?
A Book so powerful should be longed for (Psalm 119:131), digested (Joshua 1:8), absorbed, soaked up. Are you humbly submitted to the Spirit working in you through it?
“…If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” John 14:23 NASB1995
Through The Word… the person The Holy Spirit will transform you into - can be strong in the storm. Jesus was sleeping through the furious squall! The disciples were freaking out! Sure - He’s Jesus! Yes, but look at His response when they frantically wake Him. Instantly He calms the storm then “He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Mark 4:40 NIV
It is possible to face the waves of life and NOT be tossed by every wind that comes our way (Ephesians 4:14). Pastors and Teachers who are submitted to The Word and teach it completely can accelerate the process… but make no mistake - The Word of God taught by the Spirit of God is the power (Romans 1:16, Hebrews 4:12, Romans 12:2).
Through Jesus and His Word taught by His Spirit; growth, strength and maturity is produced. That’s it, that’s Gods chosen method. If we’re not in IT, we can’t expect the results and benefits that come from IT (Hebrews 5:11-14)! Plainly stated, we will not grow up and be strong without IT!
