Good Morning “Little Boats”. Today we are in Ezekiel 28.
This is the last chapter concerning the judgment of Tyre for mocking and taking advantage of Judah. It begins with focus directly on the Prince. (Ezekiel 28:2 ESV)
The Prince of Tyre at the time was a man called Ithobaal II. He ruled in Ezekiel’s day. Pride was the fuel of his demise.
But wait, 12 verses in God directs Ezekiel to produce a lament over the “king of Tyre”. (Ezekiel 28:12 ESV)
Who was the ultimate ruler of Tyre, Prince Ithobaal II, or this un-named king? If you haven’t already, dig in, read, and see if you can figure it out.
If the description of this king doesn’t make it clear… check out Genesis 3:1 to see who was the “craftiest” or “wisest” of all Gods creation. But wait, Genesis 3 only talks about the serpent. Ok check out Revelation 20:1-2.
So… behind the Prince of Tyre was the power of Satan? Yes, remember Ephesians 6:11-12? Our battle is not against flesh and blood… In fact he has the ability to deceive the best among us.
“”Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!” You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.””? Matthew 16:23 NIV
We must put on the full “Armor of God” to stand against the devils schemes (Ephesians 6:11-). The Bible (The Sword) is our weapon. These verses all point to It as essential (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:9-11, Romans 12:2…) I could go on, but I challenge you to see how many you can find. The Word of God taught by The Spirit of God has the power to push out Satans lies, deception and temptations!
In keeping with Gods sea fairing analogies… even the smallest boat cannot be sunk by even the largest ocean… unless the water gets inside it. (James 4:5-8)
Love you all! Dig in!
