Ezekiel 2

Good Morning “Standing and Ready”.  Today we are in Ezekiel 2.

We wrapped up yesterday with Ezekiel on his face in the presence of The Lord.  Most definitely this is our proper response when in Gods presence.  It demonstrates appropriate humility and reverence.  Someday when we stand face to face with Him, we will no doubt be overwhelmed by the experience and fall helpless before Him!

Today we move on to Ezekiel’s call.  The Lord’s first words to Ezekiel were “stand on your feet”.  But wait, remember when Moses came to The Lord Who appeared to him in the burning bush? Moses comes to him standing, with sandals on.  God tells him to remove his sandals, for the ground he was standing on was Holy ground.  There was nothing special about the ground itself… it was simply the presence of The Lord that made it Holy (Exodus 3:4-6).

In what seems like a contrast, Ezekiel falls on his face and God immediately tells him to stand on his feet.  So, which is it… approach in humility or stand with readiness?

YES… in that order! We ought always approach The Lord with Holy reverence - Godly fear even.  Yet… with willing submission, and confident faith in Him, that says “I am ready”!  Where you lead, I will follow (Luke 9:57).  “…Here I am, send me!” Isaiah 6:8

Gods charge to Ezekiel is quite simple… “You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.” Ezekiel‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Notice once more the assumption that His Words include them ALL.  Not, only the comforting, seeker friendly, gentle, Words… but ALL - even the convicting ones.  A “watered down” Gospel is really no Gospel at all.  Salvation in Christ is replaced with a false sense of security and a distorted view of completeness of Gods love.

Love you all!  Dig in!
