Good Morning “Do Gooders”. Today we are in Jeremiah 18.
God sends Jeremiah to the potters house for a little reminder.
“…so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.” Jeremiah 18:4 NIV
“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”
Isaiah 64:8 NIV
We are merely clay… He molds and makes us into what He wants us to be (Philippians 1:6). That process is not an easy one (Hebrews 12:11). He is perfect in every way and as the Creator can do whatever He chooses with the clay. We are entitled to NOTHING (Romans 9:20-21, 2 Timothy 2:20).
The Truths of Gods Word are not often popular. Especially to those who have embraced alternative teaching, philosophies or lifestyles. The second part of this chapter gives us a glimpse into just that. The people plot and prepare to wipe out Jeremiah for speaking Truth. That’s not a new thing (Matthew 23:37), and it continues to this day. If you are one who speaks The Truth of Gods Word, expect some pushback. That’s ok, you’re in good company (Matthew 10:22, John 15:18-21, 2 Timothy 2:3-4). There is actually blessing in the persecution (Matthew 5:11).
Look, we live in a sinful world, which makes life hard. Dealing with sin; ours and the sin of others means we will suffer. We all will endure hard times. We might as well suffer for good instead of evil, don’t you think? (1 Peter 3:8-18)
Love you all! Dig in!
