Good Morning “Living your best life”. Today we are in Psalm 112
I don’t know about you, but I know I want Gods blessing! The God that holds it all, bestows it as He sees fit. It’s not a secret - He tells us how to live “our best life.”
“Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.”
Psalms 112:1 NIV
Who are blessed? Those who fear Him (remember fear is the beginning of wisdom) and find GREAT delight in His commands. It’s wise to be delighted in learning the BEST way to live. Remember how Psalms started?
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.”
Psalms 1:1-2 NIV
If we delight in God’s Word, we will seek its counsel every day and allow its instruction to preside over our thoughts and actions throughout the day. Those thoughts and actions become a living example of The Truths we pass on. In fact, that was God’s direction when He gave the Commandments to Israel (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
The intent was that we would so live out The Word of God, teaching it to our children, that they too might live it - teaching it to theirs. In the process of living The Word, those around us, that we interact with, are naturally affected as well. The breakdown we see in Scripture and in this life happens when just one generation ceases to delight in The Word of God and live it out. That was Israel’s problem and it’s ours.
