Psalm 105

Good Morning “Proclaimers”.
Today we are in Psalm 105.

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭105‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Do you remember the moment you gave your life to Jesus?  My guess is it didn’t just happen.  You didn’t just wake up one day and say… “Today is the day I give my life to Jesus.”  No, likely the Lord prepared you by taking you through some stuff.  Maybe it was bad stuff or maybe good, but He knew exactly what it would take for you to be ready to accept His invitation (John 6:44).  Then… once you were ready, likely the Holy Spirit illuminated Scripture to you, through a willing party - so that you understood The Gospel and could respond.  Translation: Someone told you about Jesus (Romans 10:14-17).  Who was that person do you remember?  Sure you do… because they were participant in what God did to change your life - to truly GIVE you life (2 Corinthians 5:17).

It’s a beautiful process, and one the Psalmist describes here as he recants some of what God did as He beckoned the nation of Israel to Himself.  He drew them close through suffering and blessed them abundantly that they might follow and obey.

“that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭105‬:‭45‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We would do well to consider those two principles in our lives.  God often gets our attention, disciplines us, and draws us close through suffering (Hebrews 12:4-13).  He blesses us abundantly DAILY… perhaps so we will have all we need to proclaim His name to others?  Are we doing that?  1 Peter 3:15 reminds us that we don’t need to know EVERYTHING about God and The Bible to proclaim His name!   When He’s working on others, that’s where we come in.  It begins with us simply telling others what He’s done in our lives.

He drew you to Jesus with big plans for you!  (Roman’s 8:28-30, Ephesians 2:8-10).  Join me and let’s get to it!

Love you all!  Dig in!
