Good Morning “Pray-ers Without Ceasing.” Today we are in Psalm 86.
Here is another one of more than two dozen of David’s Psalms, in which he is pleading for relief from his enemies. Some things to note from this Psalm:
- God never tires of hearing our prayers… even the same ones. Think about it… would He have included more than 2 dozen similar pleas from David in Psalms if He did? Perhaps even in that - there is an application for us (Philippians 4:6, 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
- David asks for relief based on his faith but clearly understands that any response from God is all Mercy and Grace (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 11:36)
- He understands God receives the truly repentant, but that David’s pursuers are not that (Psalm 86:14-17).
Jesus through whom all things were made (John 1), is the only means by which we may be forgiven, redeemed, saved, restored into a right relationship to God (John 14:6). As we humbly come to Him in prayer, He hears and does not turn away the broken, repentant heart.
Reminder: When our hearts are aligned with His, He grants our requests because our requests align with His will! We can’t get there if we’ve got it all figured out. Humble submission is the requirement (1 John 5:14-15, John 15:7, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Jeremiah 29:11-12).
Love you all! Dig in!
