Good Morning “ Accepters of Both Good and Trouble from The Lord”. Today we are in Job 2.
With nothing left but his wife and 3 friends, Jobs wife tells him to curse God and die. His reply, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.” Job 2:10 NIV
First let’s be clear, despite the fact that Satan was the tool, God accepts responsibility for Jobs testing. Check out Gods Words to Satan as he seeks to attack Jobs health…
“And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.” Job 2:3 NASB1995
Perspective is a very important thing. We weigh good and bad according to our perspective. God is perfect, we are not. His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Our perspective is typically instructed by our temporal comfort, security, and safety. Our perspective is off.
In fact much later in Scripture James reminds us that our troubles serve as Gods tool to grow us up and mature us. No trouble - no maturity. Job understood well.
Furthermore, he understood it is ALL Gods to do with as He chooses and He’s perfectly just in doing so (1 Corinthians 4:7-8).
Praise Him, Praise Him… Even in the storm. Love you all! Dig in!
