Good Morning “Assured God is Always Working - In EVERY Situation.” Today we begin the book of Esther with chapter 1.
This book takes place after some of the Jews have returned to Jerusalem. Some, still remain in Media Persia. Xerxes is King.
Xerxes is a king that for lack of a better description, likes to show off. 180 days of partying followed by a 7 day banquet with more drinking. On the 7th day, once the king was sufficiently liquored up, he sent his 7 eunuch servants to bring in his beautiful wife so he could show her off to everyone. One problem… Queen Vashti wasn’t having it.
Absent from this chapter seems to be The Lord. Seems… but God is always working. He is always active. Sinful people cannot hinder His plan - in fact He uses them. Remember sinful people is all He has to work with. God is going to do something big here, but you’ll have to keep reading to see what it is.
Maybe you’ve wondered if God is active in your life? If you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, be confident! He’s actively working the process to make you more like Jesus (Philippians 1:6). In what you would call good times and bad - He’s working (James 1:2-4).
Even when you don’t see Him, He’s there. He will never leave you or forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5).
He didn’t draw you to The Savior (John 6:44) without purpose. On the contrary, He had purpose, reason, and good work prepared for you to do (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Dig in! Seek Him daily. Offer yourself to Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), and buckle your seatbelt. That’s what I have for you from today’s chapter.
Just wait and see what He does.
Love you all!
