Nehemiah 6

Good Morning “Evil Scheme Recognizers.”  Today we are in Nehemiah 6.

We have an enemy.  He is ruthless.  He will plot and scheme and twist and fuel gossip and seek to discredit.  He will, in short, attack in every way possible.  He is smart.  Be sure he is way smarter, and stronger than we are on our own.  He is to be respected in his power, but understand, he is not stronger or smarter than The One in us (1 John 4:4, Jude 1:8-10).  The only power he has over us as he seeks to devour us (1 Peter 5:8) is that which we give him.  How do we give him power?

God has given us all that we need to be victorious.  We have been given the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).  It’s useless though if we do not put it on, or if we choose to step out of it - as if we can do it on our own.

We’re in the fight of our life, and for the lives of our children.  We ONLY stand a chance, if we recognize first who we’re battling with and what he’s capable of.  It’s not the other flesh and blood we share this world with (Ephesians 6:12).  We only recognize him and his schemes and have any strength to combat him when we’re dialed in with Jesus.  I don’t care if it sounds like a cliche… We MUST KNOW The Word of God.  We MUST be in constant prayer and communion with Him.  We gain further strength as we practice other Spiritual Disciplines: like growing with other believers, and actively serving.  ITS NOT OPTIONAL - ITS THE ONLY WAY.

Nehemiah modeled it all.  It’s why when the evil one tried to attack him through weak men he saw through it and was able to stand.  The enemy sought to distract him, to discredit him, to even lead him into public sin by tempting him to enter and hide in Holy and Holies.  Only the High Priest could enter behind those doors.  Nehemiah knew Gods power, and he knew The  Law of The Lord. He took his thoughts captive, held on to what He knew, and put it into practice (2 Corinthians 10:5, James 1:23)!

His Word is for living!  It’s not just words and stories.  It’s alive and active, sharper than even a double edged sword (Hebrews 4:12).  The Word and prayer are our only offense battle weapons.  We are already in the battle whether we like it or not. You got your weapons… or no?

Love you all!  Dig in!
