Judges 7

Good Morning “Those Who Dare.”  Today we are in Judges 7.

I wise man I know once told me, “Dare to do something so big that it is destined for failure unless God does it… then watch Him!”  It was of course in the context of believing I had confirmed Gods leading.

We’ve already seen, and will continue to see God win battles for Israel with underprepared, ill-equipped, and out numbered willing participants.  Imagine the testimonies these guys have.  Well, you don’t have to.  We’re reading about them to this day!

Today we see the conclusion of Gideon’s victory.  Too many men you have God says.  They might believe they won the battle on their own strength, and the nation take glory for themselves.  So… let’s make cuts.  Once Gideon is down to 300 men, the army is ready.  The weapons God chooses for this battle… trumpets, torches and jars.  WHAT??? Imagine the faith required by these men.  Their enemies camels were like the sand on the seashore.  Their numbers were ridiculous!!!  How could they win with trumpets, torches and jars?  Remember, when God supplies the power and the victory - weapons don’t matter.

God is so smart!  300 men, each with a trumpet and a torch.  Cover the flaming torch with a jar and surround the camp.  On the signal, break your jar and blow your trumpet.  In a typical army there was only 1 trumpet and 1 torch bearer for each division.  In the dark, when the Midianites saw they were surrounded by that many torches and heard that many trumpets they assumed they were surrounded by hundreds of divisions, not just hundreds of men.  In the dark, they picked up their swords and started swinging.  They destroyed themselves.  God is a genius!

If you’re dialed in with The Lord, and sensitive to the Holy Spirits leading.  Never let “how in the world will he” thoughts discourage you from His leading.  He’s all about tipping the odds against you so that in the end, there is NO doubt… it was ALL God!

Love you all!  Dig in!
