Joshua 8

Good Morning “Restored.”  Today we are in Joshua 8.

Yesterday we looked at Achan’s sin, and the resulting consequences.  Sin within the nation cost Israel big time!  However; God was, and is, a God of forgiveness and grace.  After faithfully purging the sin, God  assured Joshua the victory is theirs.  “Do not be discouraged, do not be afraid.”

He gives Joshua a plan to follow.  Although the bulk of the chapter is devoted to the battle and seizing of Ai… it reads much like a news story.  Just the facts.  There appears to be little conflict - which is always the case when Gods in control.  It’s a good reminder for us.  We can struggle on our own, with little or no success, or trust and follow God!  (John 15:5)

He demands obedience, and must deal with disobedience.  Once humbly dealt with He restores.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;“ Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭

Once given the victory notice what Joshua does… back to worship through The Word!  Remember the secret to Joshua’s success?  God spelled it out in Joshua 1:8.

Love you all!  Dig in!
