Good Morning “Everything Offerers”. Today we are in Leviticus 7.
As we continue to read more details regarding regulations for the various offerings we further see Gods purpose behind them all - He even had a plan for the provision of the priests.
Anyone could bring a Fellowship Offering and its purpose varied. Offerings were presented when making vows, when expressing thanksgiving, or simply as a means of fellowshipping - everyone coming together. It demonstrated fellowship with The Lord and with one another. After the Cross, for us today who have The Holy Spirit, we fellowship with God through Him. We are united as one, by the blood of Jesus, sealed by the Holy Spirt who lives in us.
Our Fellowship Offering looks different than bringing food to the alter. We offer ourselves in faith, with thanksgiving. Romans 12:1. We demonstrate that attitude continually when obedient. It’s a choice.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Even as we present our requests to God, it is to be done with this heart of thankfulness. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
We offer all of ourselves, including our attitude in thankful Praise because of who He is and what He’s done. David got it - Check it out. “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalms 103:1-5 NIV
All Good stuff! Love you all! Dig in!
