1 Peter 3

Good Morning “Do-Gooders”. Today we are in 1 Peter 3.

In John 16:33 Jesus told the Disciples, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

James told us “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,” James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬  He further reminded us that trials were a tool to help us growing up.

The Bible actually talks a lot about suffering, and how we should act while suffering.  Standing strong, glorifying God in the midst, that others might see Him.  Suffering is even considered a blessing.

Peter dives into this subject as well.  Peter who committed his life to Jesus understood suffering well.  It is believed that Peter was forced to watch his wife crucified in front of him.  Later when he was about to be crucified, Peter would request to be crucified upside down stating he was not worthy to be crucified in the manner of the Savior.  Here are some of The Words God inspired Peter to write down…

“Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”” 1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬-‭14‬

Remember the one who is in us is GREATER!  Nothing can touch us that God does not permit.  He’s STILL in control!  In the midst of suffering Peter reminds us…

“… in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” 1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬-‭16‬

According to Scripture - we are going to suffer in this life.  It might as well be for doing good instead of Evil.  Be ready always to tell people why you look and live differently.

Love you all!  Glorify Him in all that you do!  Dig in, this chapter is full!
