Good Morning “Blessed Givers.” Check out 2 Corinthians 8 today!
It’s a selfish world generally speaking. We are by default a selfish people. Apart from The Word of God we would likely only be concerned about ourselves. “I’m gonna take care of me and mine.” We spin our wheels achieving more and building more wealth. We find ourselves too busy to help others, or get involved. Our time is ours, our material goods are ours, our talents and gifts are ours and definitely our hard earned money is ours.
There’s a problem though, in Gods economy. It’s really all His. He gives it all to us simply to be good stewards of it. “For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?”
1 Corinthians 4:7 NIV
If we’re to be good stewards we’ve gotta be asking and seeking answers to why? Why do I have this talent? Why have you given me this gift? What wwould You like me to do with my time? Where should I put the dollars I have earned with the knowledge, talents, - the career You gave me?
In this chapter Paul reminds them that Gods grace and blessing is endless. We cannot out give Him. After all He gave up everything for us.
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”
2 Corinthians 8:9
