Good Morning “Thought Captivators.” Today we are in 2 Corinthians 10.
The random thoughts that pop into our heads are many. Some, tempting, some just contrary to the Word of God. The thoughts themselves are not the problem. The entertainment of those thoughts and the resulting sin, changed convictions or morphed theology IS.
So what’s the answer. Within their ministry and challenge to the Corinthians this is what Paul says…
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV
First of all, Paul is clear on what he believes and why. That’s our first application! We must KNOW the Word of God, and through It - Jesus!
Then knowing The Word of God, we grab on to every thought when it pops in there, and if it doesn’t align with Scripture we toss it out! Disregard it! Reject it! Begin meditating on another piece of Scripture you’ve memorized dealing with that issue (Psalm 119:9-11; Joshua 1:8). See why knowing Gods Word is absolutely imperative?
The Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path… (Psalm 119:105) without it we’re lost in how to live!
Love you all! Dig in and live it out!
