Ezekiel 18

Good Morning “Secure”.  Today we are in Ezekiel 18.

“Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Do you KNOW Jesus?  Have you “believed”, in Him and received His payment for your sin thus entering into relationship with Him (John 3:16)?  Have you turned from your once sinful ways, and purposed to live according to His (Ephesians 2:1-5)?  That’s repentance (Acts 3:19).  That’s the evidence of true belief.  Belief with action is different than just knowing (John 14:21, James 2:19).  Can you point to a time when you can say… “Yup, that’s when it all changed for me.”

“But… I grew up in a Christian home.  We’ve always just believed.  We always went to church on Sundays… well, for sure holidays anyway.  We’ve always “done right” by other people - I’m good.”

Do you know how many times I’ve heard some version of that?  The problem is, although our “good works” can demonstrate Salvation, that God is working in and through us - our good works DON’T save us (Isaiah 64:6, Ephesians 2:8-9).  Neither do our parents, grandparents, husbands or wives faith!  Each and EVERY ONE is responsible for their own Faith decision and demonstration.  That whole principle is the subject of Gods Word to us through Ezekiel in this chapter.  If you haven’t already… I encourage you to read it!

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in!
