Numbers 21

Good Morning “Patient in Affliction.”  Today we are in Numbers 21.

Although numbers does not record every day, it sure does seem like Israel grumbled a lot!  They doubt God, lose trust, grumble, God disciplines, they repent, and then they move on to wherever God was leading, or they continue with whatever God had them doing in the first place.  The objective is typically completed, but now with fewer people, the nation having been disciplined sternly.

It’s almost as if God says… we’re going to do this!  We can either do it the easy way, or the hard way.  Human nature is human nature - we are all sinful!  How do you react when you’re in the midst of travel, or the process of a project and things don’t go as you planned?

God is sovereign.  He’s still leading and directing.  If we’re sensitive to His Holy Spirit in us, and following then we’re heading in the right direction.  Don’t assume however; just because we’re on the right path that our journey will be without struggle!  He’s constantly molding and making us into who He wants us to be.  It’s not always gentle.  In fact character is often shaped most in the midst of trials!  How’s your attitude in the midst of it?  The expectation is our attitudes are dialed.

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig, dig!  Do not grow weary!
