Leviticus 18

Good Morning “Called to His Best.”  Today we are in Leviticus 18.

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬

A quick survey of world history reveals this is true.  Nations who adopt a “we can do as we please” attitude regarding Gods Law - including issues of injustice and morality, even child sacrifice, eventually fall.  Here God is reminding the nation of Israel that He is the one that does the toppling.

“Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled. Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭18‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What our flesh naturally wants is contrary to what God wants.  Entertain your desires long enough and you will find a way to try and justify them.  The world is full of sin.  Never confuse the will of the majority with the will of God.  Remember wide is the path that leads to destruction… the path to life is narrow.
“For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Continue reading Galatians 5:18-26, you’ll find this chapters sins summarized and reiterated.

Romans 1:18- Describes 3 steps in man’s decent into depravity.  Ultimate “God gave them over to a depraved mind.”  These chapters are worth reading for sure.  Then consider… Where are we as a nation in this whole decent into depravity?

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬

Remember it’s not the way we live that saves us… but it may demonstrate we’re saved!  God’s got “The Best” in store for you and I!  It’s why He called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light.  Why would we trade that?

Love you all!  Dig in!
