Leviticus 9

Good Morning “Cost Counters”.   Today we are in Leviticus 9.

“Then Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the Lord may appear to you.””
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Moses did exactly as The Lord commanded, exactly the way The Lord commanded to do it, and He showed up.  What does this have to do with us?  EVERYTHING!  Remember The Lord is the same yesterday today and tomorrow.

Remember Gods first choice for those to serve in the Temple were the first born of those that came out of Egypt.  However; after their sin at the base of Sinai, (remember the golden calf) only the Levites stood.  Exodus 32:26-28 The Levite’s had to choose that day.  Would they choose The God that chose them, or would they choose their brothers, their friends, their neighbors.  They chose God, and stood with Moses and took 3,000 by the sword.  As a result they are the chosen Priesthood.  Numbers 8:14-18 explains it perfectly.

We too as a the Royal Priesthood through Jesus Christ 1 Peter 2:9-10 have a choice to make.  He called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light for the purpose of proclaiming His name.  His expected response is our total submission.  Will we, like the Levites, choose the God that chose us… or will we choose this life?  Luke 14:25-33 describes the cost of being a Disciple.  He must be first, before our family, friends, even our very life.

When we get that order straight, we align ourselves with His desire for us.  When we like Moses, do exactly as The Lord commands, exactly the way He commands it, He shows up!  We position ourselves for the blessing of being used by Him.

But, how can we live by what we do not know? Thats why it is imperative that we read, know, understand and live the “Whole counsel of God.” Paul understood that and proclaimed that truth to the Ephesian Elders.  “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.” Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬.  Understand they were living the New Testament, so at the time Paul was largely referring to the Old.  All the parts we get bored with!  They too are important for us. 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Love you all!  Dig in!
