Good Morning “Steady Eddie.” Today we are in Proverbs 24.
“If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! Proverbs 24:10 True faith isn’t realized until it’s tested. In those moments how do we respond? Do we cling to the world’s strength and answers or press in and trust The Only Source, The One with the real answers?
“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” Proverbs 24:11
Consider the many implications of this passage. Whether someone is caught up in sin, about to throw their life away, or the innocent, the unborn without protection, or maybe even one about to be executed, without trial, with no consideration… the expectation is - we get involved. There is no better example of One who puts His life on the line for others than Jesus. Most definitely in His death on The Cross… but remember, that wasn’t the first time He put His life on the line (John 8:1-11).
If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?” Proverbs 24:10-12 NIV It’s easy to look the other way… to pretend it’s not our problem, to not get involved. Scripture is clear… our Heavenly Father knows about the injustices of the world… and He knows we know. Remember the Holocaust? He knew then. Today the unborn are treated as rubbish, discarded when there is no perceived use for them. Living children are bought and sold like commodities, people are enslaved. Injustices happen in our own back yards when truth is hidden. He knew then, and He knows now. We are charged to roll up our sleeves and get in there!
(Psalm 82:3-4, Proverbs 31:8-9, Luke 17:1-2, Acts 20:35)
Love you all! Dig in!
