Psalm 39

Good Morning “Makers… of The Most of Everyday.”  Today we are in Psalm 39.

David brings out two clear points in this Psalm.  Our words are powerful - thus we should keep a tight reign on our tongue.  (James 3:5-6).

David purposed to do just that…
“I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the presence of the wicked.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭39‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬ However; sometimes that’s harder than we think.

When the pressure increased David failed…
“So I remained utterly silent, not even saying anything good. But my anguish increased; my heart grew hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭39‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬ And… as a result he experienced the consequences.

Our days are numbered, there’s nothing we can do to add a single hour to them (Psalm 139:16, Matthew 6:27).  Consider our time here on earth a proving ground, a warm up… for eternity.  What we do with Jesus and how we live here and now in this short time - determines where and how we spend the rest of FOREVER.

We’re a mess, and can’t do it on our own!  It’s only by The Blood of Jesus and power of the Holy Spirit in us that we can NOT sin (Romans 3:5-7, 10-12).  Yet, through the Blood of Jesus we can be forgiven, redeemed and reconciled to God - made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).
It doesn’t end with our Salvation… There’s work to do!  People need Jesus, just as we do!

Because of His great mercy we have been given this time… however short it may be, to live for and glorify Him (Romans 12:1-2).

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

How will you glorify Him today?  Love you all!  Dig in!
