Good Morning “Restored.” Today we are in Isaiah 60.
Yesterday’s chapter focused on our universal sin problem, and Gods seemingly harsh response to it. God is Holy! Sin in no joke to Him! It’s serious. Within yesterday’s chapter the offer of Salvation through the coming Messiah was clear (Isaiah 59:1, 20). That declaration was future prophecy for Israel, as well as us, Gentiles - “others”. That’s “Good News”! Jesus has since come and many have already received Him… The prophesied Millennial Kingdom and the New Jerusalem is yet to come… but make no mistake - will come after The Tribulation.
In today’s chapter we get a picture of Gods incredible Mercy, Grace, and Restoration of Israel in that time. But wait… Israel is not alone.
Remember, all Old Testament Believers and Raptured Believer’s, together with the those that believed through the Tribulation and were martyred will return with Jesus to wage war on The Beast, The False Prophet, and the nations who oppose The Lord.
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.” Revelation 19:11 NIV
“The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.” Revelation 19:14 NIV
The enemies of God are all defeated and tossed into the lake of burning fire (Revelation 19:20-21).
Satan is bound and tossed into the abyss as well… (Revelation 20:1-3) then, the Millennial Kingdom, and the restoration of Israel we see in our chapter today. Even then, “Nations will come…” it’s not just Israel.
At the close of Tribulation, there will be some still living… believers who were not martyred, as well as those that are on the fence.
“Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:3 NIV
Those still living who did not take the “mark of the beast”(Revelation 13:16-18), as well as those who will be born during the millennium, will have a choice to make. Jesus or their flesh. The offer of salvation through Jesus during the millennium will further underscore Gods Grace and Mercy. Nevertheless; even with Perfect Grace, Righteousness, and Justice on full display - some will still reject Him and choose their flesh. Crazy right? Wait… isn’t that what we do when we choose sin (James 1:14)?
