Good Morning “Mercy Seekers”. Today we are in Psalm 6.
David has reached the end of himself.
We all fall in some way or another. In our flesh we choose sin (James 1:14). In our flesh we fall. Consequences come, God disciplines. Don’t despise it but recognize that The Loving Father, any loving dad - disciplines His children. He does it not to make them pay for their sin, He did that at The Cross, but rather bring them into submission to His standard (Hebrews 12:5-13).
Instead, let it bring you to the point of repentance. Fall on your face before Him. Cry out to the One who is faithful to restore the repentant.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,”
Acts 3:19 NIV
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Brokenness and repentance is the requirement. David displays it well in this Psalm. On the other hand If we hang on to the lie that our sin is not sin… or that “it’s no big deal”, well...
If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.” 1 John 1:10 NIV
He defines sin… not the world, not us. We can heed His Word and humble ourselves… or He will do it. He is faithful.
“The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.” Psalms 6:9 NIV
Love you all! Dig in!
