Good Morning “Straight Talkers and Walkers.”  Today we are in Micah 2

In today’s chapter we are reminded of what Gods Love, REAL Love - looks like.  The fact that God is love, does not mean that He turns a blind eye to sin.  We see that here.

Many in the church readily accept Gods perfect Mercy and Grace but deny He is still perfectly Just.  His Holiness requires He deal with sin (Romans 6:23).  He has not changed… He does not change (Malachi 3:6).

We must present both sides of God equally, even when sharing the Gospel.  Why is the “Good News” so good?  Because the bad news is so bad.  To do anything other is what The Bible would call “straying from the path.”

“Watch the path of your feet, and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right or to the left; turn your foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:27 (NASB)

God has given us the Bible to show us how we should live. Through the Bible, we understand God’s Holiness, man’s sinfulness, Jesus’ gracefulness, and the believer’s thankfulness.

When we stray to the “left” of the Bible’s instruction, we abuse God’s liberty by rebelling against accountability. Swing too far to the “right,” and we worship the discipline of religion while denying ourselves God’s gracious gift of a personal relationship with Him.

In the days of Micah Gods people had taken Gods Grace to the point that they worshiped idols.  Understand, they still believed they we in a right relationship to Him.  They worshiped Him right along with everything else.  God through Micah warns His wrath is coming.  He warns of creating this kind of false hope, and homologated worship through teaching that downplays Gods Justice.

When presented with a God that is only Grace and allows us to continue in sin, vs One that has high expectations and corrects His children when they sin… which would you choose?

Unfortunately many in the church have chosen the one that lets them continue in their flesh (sin).  The trouble is… that is NOT the God of The Bible (Hebrews 12:4-13).

A healthy “walk” with Jesus is a balance of freedom with accountability and discipline with a personal relationship.  Only by daily spending daily time with Him in The Word, can we keep that balance straight (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:9-11; Romans 12:2)

Love you all!  Dig in and live it out.
