VERSE 1

In the beginning was God

It was He Who existed before

All things created and known

He, eternal was three in One.

Then word of power He spoke

And from nothing creation was born

And He set in motion His plan

The creation; redemption of man

His covenant did He proclaim

And a people He called by His name

That down through the ages would show

Forever He faithful remains

And He bore with them through trial

Though they failed to understand

That He alone was God

And His purposes would stand

From creation the Lamb

Slain to bear

The sins of the whole world

And through His blood

We come to know

What eternity foretold

That God so loved the world…

With eyes through history look

See the fingers of God at work

Calling all men to be saved

By the power alone of grace

Then look at faithful lives

Who by faith obtained the prize 

Though they suffered in this world

Attained resurrection life
