Good Morning “Of Course You Are’s”.  Today we are in Jeremiah 38.

What if The Lord spoke to you through a burning bush… or, perhaps through a donkey… or with a thundering voice through the clouds?  What if He reminded you that you were created in Him for good works, a purpose He has just for you?  “What do you think…”, He might say, “You up for it”?  What’s the picture that comes to mind?  Blessing?  Big blessing?  Are you excited?

I’m guessing if you’re like most, that’s the initial thought.  What if He spoke with a quiet whisper, seemingly like your own thoughts, but obviously NOT - and clearly from within.  What if He painted a picture much more bleak?  “You will suffer, long, sometimes alone, ostracized by your people, beaten, left for dead… but do not be afraid, I will be with you and ULTIMATELY you will be blessed in Heaven.”  Are you excited now?

First of all, He IS calling every believer to serve Him (Ephesians 2:10, Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20).

And… Jesus warmed we will face trouble in John 16:33.  The trouble He’s alluding to comes as a result of our faith stance, The Truth.  That’s the testimony of Scripture (Hebrews 11 w/ emphasis on vs 32-40).  Oh, the blessing will come!  And… it will be BIG!  Just maybe not now.

Endurance through it all, ONLY comes through The Word of God and His Promises.  Perhaps, when Jeremiah was in the pit - He was comforted by David’s Words (Psalm 40).

Or, maybe he remembered the story of Joseph and how his similar circumstances led to his brothers’ deliverance (Genesis 37:23-24).

NEVER underestimate the POWER of Gods Word! “Faith comes by hearing and hearing from The Word of God.” (Romans 10:7).

Jeremiah trusted the Lord, spoke The Truth boldly, and the Lord eventually delivered him (Jeremiah 38:12-13). Later, we read that The Lord used Jeremiah’s whole episode of faithful suffering.  He contrasted it with Zedekiah’s lack of faith. Jeremiah was saved, but Zedekiah wouldn’t be (Jeremiah 38:21-22).

You still ALL in?  Of course you are!
Love you all!  Dig in!
