Good Morning “Truth Holders.” Today we are in Ezekiel 12.
3 strikes and you’re out…
“I’m going to start counting, if I get to 10 you’re getting a spanking. 1,2,3….
“I’m NOT going to tell you again!”
Fear of consequences is little deterrent, when it comes to sin. Satan somehow has convinced man “Don’t worry”, “Live your life”, “The day of reckoning will never come”, “You’ve got lots of time”! Israel actually said it. Those concepts echo in today’s society. Ezekiel deals with it in today’s chapter.
Satan keeps us distracted with “the sky is falling” hysterias which never come true… . In the 80s we grew up hearing Russia was going to attack, the world was sinking into another ice age, and we were all going to die of AIDS. Then came Al Gores Global Warming… Millions of Americans “Go Green” in an effort to keep the World from Burning up…
Too bad people don’t equally anticipate the coming “Day of The Lord”, and take the offer of Salvation through Jesus seriously. We’ll believe any junk spewed out if it comes from the government or the news, despite their lack of integrity - yet we question The God of ALL creation Who holds it ALL in His hands and has ALWAYS been faithful.
In the words of Charles Spurgeon, “Men display great ingenuity in making excuses for rejecting the message of God’s love. They display marvelous skill, not in seeking salvation, but in fashioning reasons for refusing it; they are dexterous in avoiding grace and in securing their own ruin. They hold up first the sword and then the shield to ward off the gracious arrows of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which are only meant to slay the deadly sins which lurk in their bosoms.”
This was Ezekiel’s experience. Perhaps the biggest lie of the enemy is not that there is no God or Heaven but that there is no urgency for people to choose to follow Jesus now. In short, the Devil’s biggest lie is that men have more time to determine whether they will follow God’s Word. ‘Repent! For the Day of the Lord is coming…” 2 Peter 3:1-13
