Good Morning “Good Workers.” Today we are in 1 Chronicles 9.
Today we get a look at those returning from Babylonian exile. There is much work to be done to repair Jerusalem and the Temple of God. Emphasis is given to the Levites in this chapter - for obvious reasons. They were the caretakers and servants of the Temple and the worship of God. They were the Priests. Their inheritance was not in land but in the service of The Lord. They earned it, with their faithfulness.
If you were born into a Levite family you went to work in the family business - Gods business. “But dad, I want to be a Doctor… or a School Teacher… “. “Nonsense son, you will serve in the Temple, like your father and his father before him.”
Serving The Lord was considered valuable, important work! It was a privilege. Still is! If you are part of the family of God, a child of God bought with the blood of Jesus - all the same applies. By His Grace He gives you the privilege (Ephesians 2:8-9).
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
John 1:12-13
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Be thankful He chose you! Count it a blessing to serve Him because it is. Let’s get to work loving Him and loving others. (Matthew 22:36-40)
Love you all! Dig in!
