Proverbs 31

Good Morning “Salty”.  Today we finish up Proverbs with 31.

“The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him.” Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Like yesterday, we get Gods wisdom from a fairly unknown source.  We don’t see King Lemuel mentioned anywhere else.  His mother appears to have been quite wise, impressing things we all ought apply upon her son.

God has The Power to shape society through The Church if we might simply obey, and live by His principles / commands.  The first section of this Proverb contains some of those.

Admit it or not.  The consequences of a society with little regard for innocent life, are easily seen all around us.  We live during a modern Holocaust.  63 million, 63,000,000 babies aborted since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973 - according to the Guttmacher Institute and the National Right to Life Committee.   Consider that likely that number is way low given the number of unreported “abortion pill”, abortions. Astounding… yes.  Heart breaking… absolutely.  The Church bears the responsibility (Matthew 5:13-16).

“Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die.” Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us how we should respond.

The largest and most famous part of this Proverb comes in its description of “A Wife of Nobel Character.”  What a list of admirable qualities for our young men to seek in a wife and for our young women to purpose to be.  Honestly most are qualities we ought all seek to live out.   Check it out if you haven’t already.

Love you all!  Dig in!
