Good Morning “Heart Guarders”. Today we are in Proverbs 4.
“Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live.” Proverbs 4:4 NIV
By Grace, through Jesus, The Lord has given us everything we need! He leads, guides, instructs, convicts, comforts and strengthens us by His Word taught by The Holy Spirt (John 14:26).
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
2 Peter 1:3-4 NIV
The Word of God is our standard. We must reject anything contrary to It (2 Corinthians 10:5) and press into God through His Word.
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
James 4:7-8 NIV
Solomon understood the power we give to the desires of our heart. Thus… we must remain alert and be on guard.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Proverbs 4:23 NIV
Paul describes a proactive approach to doing exactly that…
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 NIV
