Good Morning “After Gods Own Heart.” Today we are in Isaiah 42.
“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations.” Isaiah 42:1 NIV
Who is this Servant that God through Isaiah speaks of? Check Philippians 2:5-8, John 4:34.
Who is the One God upholds? Read Mark 1:12-13, 1 Peter 2:4-6.
Who is it that God delights in, who does God specifically put His Spirit on? Luke 3:21-22, Matthew 3:16
Jesus has come not to be served but to serve. He is the means by which we can be reconciled to God. His Blood shed on the cross for the sin of all mankind. Many hear but they do not listen, they see but are blind. They reject Jesus and in so doing bring upon themselves judgment for their sin (John 3:16-19).
The day is coming when Jesus will bring justice to all nations, He will, and is already gathering unto Himself the prescribed number of Gentiles and the remnant of Israel (Romans 11:25-27). Until then, however; His wrath will be a tool of correction to draw back those who rebel, and reject Him (Ezekiel 18:23, Exodus 9:14).
He loves us too much to allow us to continue in rebellion - without correction (Hebrews 12:4-13). The question is, how do we respond when corrected? Consider the response of Pharaoh (Exodus 9:34), compared to the response of David “The man after Gods own heart” (2 Samuel 12:19-20).
Love you all! Dig in!
