Good Morning “When Things Are Good Praisers.” Today we are in Isaiah 43.
When Israel had it all they rejected God. When He stripped them of everything they turned to Him. That’s the pattern.
God through Isaiah demonstrates His incredible Grace, speaking of both Judahs rescue from Babylonian Captivity (near term prophecy) and referring to their rescue from Tribulation (distant prophecy). He even uses the Exodus, their prior rescue from Pharaohs hand, as a reminder that He can and will do as He promises (vs 16-17).
Why is it we as His children seem to forget God when things are good and fall on our face in worship when things go bad? No wonder God must bring us low from time to time. He loves us too much to leave us to our rebellious ways.
“the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”
Isaiah 43:21 NIV
We are created to glorify and honor Him. Then in our rebellion, He gets our attention. In our repentance, through the Person of Jesus - He forgives.
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.”
Isaiah 43:25 NIV
It’s God. All God! By His Mercy and Grace. Nothing we’ve done to deserve it. Nothing we’ve earned. Just Grace (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)
Romans 12:1-2
Love you all! Dig in!
