Proverbs 1

Good Morning “Wisdom Gainers”.  Today we begin Proverbs with chapter 1.

Wisdom and logic seem to be in short supply in our world lately.  From the beginning of this Proverb; Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, makes clear the reason he is writing:
“for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young— let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance— for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yeah!!! Give me some of that!!!

Bottom line, Solomon wanted to pass on the wisdom he had gained… perhaps as a father does.  Perhaps so that those that come after would not make the same mistakes he did.  So… he makes a clear statement, apply The Word of God and be blessed, don’t and suffer.

It all begins with fearing the Lord for if there is no fear of The Lord and the consequences He can bring, why would I apply His Word that requires me to put aside the desires of my flesh?

Solomon speaks clearly to future of the one who rejects The Word of God.  The Truth is, He desires to bless those who turn to Him.  But we cannot expect blessing from the one we reject!  Repentance, must come before deliverance and restoration.  (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Love you all!  Dig in!
