Good Morning “Sword Fighters”. Today we are in Jeremiah 48.
The battle is real! Satan wages spiritual war against the people of God (1 Peter 5:8). Any soldier of war that does not take battle danger seriously is likely to end up a casualty - muerto (dead). As soldiers in a spiritual battle if we don’t take our battle seriously we’re liable to end up spiritually dead - of no consequence. Although we cannot lose our salvation (Hebrews 13:5), we can become fruitless for The Kingdom (John 15:5).
Satan doesn’t have to get us to worship himself… he only needs to distract us from God and His Word long enough to allow our flesh to take over (James 1:14). Apart from Gods Word, it WILL take over (Romans 12:2). The nations were judged for their idolatry - ascribing worship to things other than God. In fact, ANYTHING we put before God constitutes an idol in our lives (Exodus 20:3-5, Colossians 3:5)
“A curse on anyone who is lax in doing the Lord’s work! A curse on anyone who keeps their sword from bloodshed!” Jeremiah 48:10 NIV
Do you bring your Sword (The Word of God) into battle (Ephesians 6:17)? Do you know how to wield it correctly? We must! It’s our ONLY hope! “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 NIV
If we’re in a battle, and we definitely are - we ought always be on the ready. Review Ephesians 6:10-20.
Love you all! Dig in!
