Good Morning “Gods People”. Today we are in Jeremiah 30.
“‘So you will be my people, and I will be your God.’ ”
Jeremiah 30:22 NIV
As you read this chapter don’t get confused - Israel is referred to here as Jacob, and Jesus as David. All Israel descended from the line of Jacob and Jesus from the line of David. It’s kinda like our last names… our descended names if you want to call it that.
God was not done with Israel or Judah yet! His plans for her did not end with judgment. In fact their judgment was just more demonstration of His mercy and grace for He was not about to let her continue in sin.
He wanted her to turn back to Him and His Word. “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
No half hearted worship. No intermingling false worship systems and REAL worship! No luke warm (Revelation 3:14-22) worship. “All your heart”.
God through Jeremiah reminds the exiles of His future plan. There will come a day when Israel will turn to Jesus. “… they will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.”
Jeremiah 30:9 NIV.
It’s all by His Grace (Romans 5:6-8, Ephesians 2:8-10).
Praise God He in His mercy and grace doesn’t let us go our own way.
