Isaiah 52

Good Morning “Beautiful Feet.” Today we are in Isaiah 52.

Speaking of the New Jerusalem, God through Isaiah makes it clear… it was and is ALL Him.  Israel was taken into Babylonian captivity not because of a debt but because of their sin.  Hence, God owes no one anything in releasing them… there is no earthly price to pay.

To enter the New Jerusalem, however; there is a cost.  Their sin must be paid for.  But how… Who… Who meets the qualifications to pay the debt of sin?  Only the Redeemer  Jesus.

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”” Isaiah‬ ‭52‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The “Good News” is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  In fact the literal meaning of Gospel is “Good News”.  We were dead in our sin and trespasses, destined to spend eternity in Hell - but Jesus satisfied the payment required for ALL sin… THAT’S “Good News”.  (Ephesians 2:1-5)

It’s by Grace we are offered Salvation.  It’s by faith, we believe and receive it (Ephesians 2:8-9).  We say salvation is a free gift.  Let me reiterate… it may be offered freely to us, but it came at great cost to Jesus.  “Just as there were many who were appalled at him— his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness—” Isaiah‬ ‭52‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The incredible beating that Jesus endured prior to the Cruxifixction, ripped flesh from His body.  He in fact, no longer looked like a human. Nevertheless, “…For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What joy could He find in that?  Answer… Knowing He would accomplish that which He came to earth for… and in THAT, we could be reconciled to God.  THAT’S “Good News”.  Beautiful are the feet of those who share it.

Love you all!  Dig in!
