Isaiah 54

Good Morning “Never Forsaken.”
Today we are in Isaiah 54.

As you read Isaiah 54, keep in mind you are reading prophecy. Specifically in this chapter you are reading Gods promise to Israel that He will take her back, and rebuild the great city Jerusalem.  Note… at this point in Isaiah’s writings, He is promising to take Israel back, restore and vindicate her before He even raising up Babylon to take her into captivity.  One day, after the Tribulation He will restore her.

Why am I making this point?  Because, failing to remember we are reading prophecy could result in us forgetting God has a plan.  He could appear reactive.  Israel rebelled, rejected God, so God responded…. NO!  As hard as it is for us to understand, that’s not the way God works.  He is sovereign and has a plan… always has (Jeremiah 29:11).  He works in and through the sin of man to accomplish His plan.  Israel has to go through this time to mold and make her into what God plans for her to be… while simultaneously allowing for the salvation of the “full number” of Gentiles (Romans 11.25).

Recognizing this Truth ought to remind us to TRUST Him!  He is Faithful!  He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).  God tells “His Bride” that He will discipline her for a season, but His intention is never to leave her forever.  As true believers we may at times, because of our sin, feel distant from God.  We may at times go through discipline - refining times.  We must understand that Gods purpose is always our restoration not our damnation.

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in!
