Good Morning “Kingdom Minded.” Today we are in Isaiah 11.
In Isaiah 10 we saw Isaiah position the account of God using the Assyrian Army, to bring rebellious Israel to her knees in repentance - in such a way as to parallel the AntiChrist and The Tribulation. Chapter 10 ended with The Remnant of Israel being gathered to Jesus and in this way The Nation of Israel saved.
So… if we crudely pick up the timeline: Rapture of The Church, Tribulation, Gathering of the Remnant… what comes next?
Isaiah describes the coming of Jesus here in chapter 11. “A shoot from Jesse”, that will come up (grow up Luke 2:52). The fullness of The Spirit will rest on Him. Isaiah fast forwards… All He does governed by His “Fear of The Lord - Yahweh (vs 2-3). He will govern not by what He sees (not like man) but by The Spirit.
“The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.” Isaiah 11:6 NIV Summary… the predator will no longer prey on the prey. Check it out, the animals are no longer carnivorous, hence they no longer fear each other and man. The child can even hang with the viper. The curse of Genesis 3, and the institution of meat eating and the the fear placed in animals (Genesis 9:2) has been reversed.
Furthermore the division in Israel is over. “Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.” Isaiah 11:13 NIV Ephraim here represents the Northern tribes of Israel, since it played such a historic role in opposing God and Judah.
So given Isaiah’s description, what’s happening here? The Millennial Kingdom (Revelation 20:1-4). Later we will see Isaiah describe this New Kingdom, New Heaven in chapter 65:17-25.
Isaiah has a PERFECT Prophetic record. We have seen many prophecies of Isaiah already come to pass - demonstrating he is TRULY a prophet bringing the very Word of God (Deuteronomy 18:20-22). This too will come to pass. Makes sense to live kingdom minded lives - doesn’t it?
Love you all! Dig in!
