Isaiah 10

Good Morning “Humble Remainers.”  Today we are in Isaiah 10.

God hates pride!  That is made evermore clear as we read through today’s chapter.  Pride results in God humbling us.  Why?  Because it’s all Him.  Our blessing, our giftedness, our abilities, our strength  - all come from Him.  How dare we attribute any of it to ourselves (1 Corinthians 4:7).

Once again, as he often does, Isaiah is weaving multiple threads in this chapter.  Isaiah is positioning this story in a way as to give us a picture of future events to come.  Pay attention to the correlation between Assyria and the Antichrist to come.  The similarities as they seek to destroy Jerusalem, and the details of Gods judgment outlined in Isaiah 37:35-36 carried out by “The Angel of The Lord”, ( Pre-incarnate, 2nd Member of The Trinity, Jesus when He comes in flesh).  He always wins!

What led to the demise of the Assyrian army?  God used the Assyrian army to judge Northern Israel in her sin, and to give her and those individual Jews a chance to repent.  Sounds familiar doesn’t it?  (Antichrist, Tribulation) Don’t forget,  God uses sinful men because that’s all He has to work with.  The King of Assyria knew well his assignment, illustrated as his representatives are speaking with the King of Judah in 2 Kings 18:25.  However; pride gets the better of him as well, assuming or deciding all nations were fair game and equal - and they move to destroy Judah and Jerusalem in it.   Bad move!  God will always protect The Line of David, and His Remnant.  Pride comes before the fall (Proverbs 16:18).

“A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God. Though your people be like the sand by the sea, Israel, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭10‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Be reminded.  God has not replaced Israel with the church.  We have a place, yes.  But God has not forgotten His Covenant with Israel.  “…all Israel will be saved.”  Romans 11:26  Paul speaks of Israel as a Nation, definitely not each individual, but the Nation WILL be saved through The Remnant (Believing Jews Romans 11:25-32).

God keeps His Promises!  Jesus always wins.  Love you all!  Dig in!
